St. Patrick Respect Life Committee
Our Respect Life Committee meets on the first Tuesday of each month to pray for and discuss pro-life events.
- Spiritual Adoption - Walking with Moms in Need - This annual campaign encourages parishioners to sign up to pray for expectant mothers in need, who choose LIFE for their unborn babies. This is a nine-month project that begins in January and concludes with a baby shower for expectant mothers in the fall. Please share the love of life given to you by the Lord of All Life! Join in spiritually adopting (praying for) an expectant mother in need.
- Patriotic Rosary - Join us for to pray the Patriotic Rosary on November 2, 2024.
- Born to Run - November 16, 2024 - Sign up here - You can help women in need by participating in Woman's New Life Clinic's Born to Run - Baton Rouge 5k & 1/2 mile Fun Run!
- Louisiana Life March South - January 25, 2025 at 10 am March for Life at the Louisiana Life March South in Baton Rouge with thousands of others to support moms, defend life, and proclaim that we love moms and their babies! Meet us at the Capitol Front Lawn before 10AM.

40 Days for Life - Oct. 23 Site ChangeIt has been decided that the location of this year’s 40 Days for Life Vigil is not the ideal setting for our parishioners to gather. We are asking those who signed up for peaceful prayer and presence in front of Planned Parenthood on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, to pray, instead, at St. Patrick Church. The Blessed Sacrament is traditionally exposed from 8:30am – 3:00pm on Wednesdays. Please plan to pray that day for abortion-vulnerable babies and their parents in the church during the hours for which you signed up, or any time of day that is convenient for you.

Spiritual Adoption Project

As our annual Spiritual Adoption Project for Walking With Moms in Need nears conclusion, St. Patrick’s Respect Life Committee will sponsor a Baby Bottle Campaign to collect donations of money, gift cards, and baby supplies. Pick up an envelope after all Masses the weekend of August 31 and September 1 for monetary donations. A Baby Shower will be held after the 9:30 Mass on Sunday, September 15. Thank you for your generosity and for supporting Respect Life activities!
Currently, urgent needs include:
- Gift Cards in $10 and $20 denominations to Walmart, Target, Walgreens (mark dollar amount on card)
- Diapers (Sizes 4, 5, 6) & Pull-Ups (Sizes 2T, 3T); Baby Toiletries (wipes, body wash, shampoo
- New Car Seats (infants and up); New Pack and Play Playpens (new in box)
- Cash; Woman's New Life Clinic's Registry
Your generosity will help the following non-profit organizations that support moms in need, who choose LIFE for their babies: Pregnancy Problem Center, Sanctuary House / St. Patrick House (Catholic Charities) and Woman’s New Life Clinic. These organizations provide medical services, counseling, and supplies needed to maintain healthy lifestyles for these moms and their babies.
